AFRA Accomplishments during it’s first year - 1998

Dear AFRA Members and Supporters

What a great first year we have had at AFRA! As you can see below we have accomplished a lot of good things, with minimal resources. If we all work TOGETHER we can accomplish great things in the coming months and years. I look forward to working with you in 1999 and beyond to make this a better country and state to raise our children.

Nov 1997 AFRA Incorporated in the State of Alabama
Jan 1998 Began regular twice-monthly meetings in Huntsvill
Feb 1998 AFRA Website goes on-line on the WWW
May 1998
Provided input to the Alabama Supreme Court
- Committee on Access and Visitation
Jun 1998 Fathers and Children's Rights March at Madison County Courthouse
Jun 1998 Father’s Day Picnic
Jul 1998 Participated in and addressed the Vigil for Fatherhood in Big Spring Park in Huntsville, along with Women For Fatherhood
Aug 1998 Joined with Women for Fatherhood in Huntsville to meet together
Sep 1998 Prepared and filed paperwork for IRS non-profit status
Oct-Nov 1998 Prepared for Advisory Committee on Child Support Guidelines
Nov 1998 Prepared legislation packages for 1999 Alabama legislative session
Dec 1998- Submitted proposed legislation to numerous Alabama Legislators
