The Calhoun County Area Chapter of AFRA will form in January 2000. Our purpose is to assist non-custodial parents, children and grandparents in the Calhoun County area. We will also assist the other chapters within the state in changing the way non-custodial parents are viewed and treated in our Alabama courts and hopefully, the nation.
That's where our members come in. Only by working together, we can make a difference and make changes
the rest of the United States should follow. We can slow down the rate of inmates
heading into prison, we can slow down the number of teen suicides, we can slow down the
number of kids with behavioral disorders, chemical dependencies and runaways. It has
been said, "Our future is our children." But, if we don't act together to
make sure both parents can remain a part of their children's lives... even after divorce,
we lose the future for our children.
The initial Calhoun County meeting will be held on the 19th of Jan, 2000, at 630 pm in the Oxford Public Library located at:
It is located in Downtown Oxford between Main street and Hwy 21, about a half mile from the Oxford Mall. (See maps)
